To all our members,
It is with a very heavy heart that we are contacting you today to confirm that we have decided to postpone Fast Feet Football Academy sessions at this present time. This is following both the Government advice about social distancing; and the decision made by the FA late last night to cancel all grassroots football related activity. Whilst our sessions are privately run and don’t fall under the term ‘grass roots’; we felt the right decision was to follow in the FA’s lead.
Our children, parents and staff are our primary concern and we want to ensure that we are doing what is advised to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This decision hasn’t been made lightly, we simply want to do the right thing by you and your families.
What does this mean for you?
The closure of our sessions will take effect immediately including this evenings Football Club training session. All sessions due to take place the remainder of this week will no longer go ahead.
As you are aware our sessions are run over 46 weeks of the year with set breaks at Easter, Summer and Christmas. To cover this period of closure we will simply reshuffle our breaks. The breaks we will implement are as follows:
Instead of our scheduled 1 week break at Easter, we will now begin a 4 week break with the aim of returning week commencing 13th April.
Our 3 week break in the Summer will now be cancelled and sessions will run throughout the 6 week Summer Holiday
This of course, is subject to a review of the COVID-19 situation; Government and Public Health advice at that time. We will continue to communicate with you regularly as we know more nearer the time. If sessions are unable to re-start at this time we will be in touch about the next steps and our planned approach.
We will also decide on whether the Easter Holiday Camp will go ahead as we move into April.
Please understand that we are managing this unprecedented situation as best we can; and that the situation continues to change daily. We will monitor this closely and take the right steps at the right time. We really do appreciate your patience and understanding.
With potential school closures and social distancing, and as parents of two young boys, we understand that entertaining children during this time may be quite challenging. To support you and your children, we would like to send out Fast Feet activities to complete at home with your kids on a regular basis. We will be in touch to communicate in more detail what this will look like and how you can be part of our weekly challenges.
We are devastated that closures are now our only option and the impact this may have on you and your children. We have always endeavoured to provide our service and over the 8 years Fast Feet has been running, have only had to shutdown once due to extreme weather. We want you to know as a small family run business, we will do everything we can, in a safe and responsible way, to get back to providing our services.
Please stay safe and well; and please contact us with any queries you have.
Mark and the Fast Feet Team!
